THE TEAM:
The People team at Jobber builds an environment where exceptional people can do their best work. From your first conversation with Talent Attraction, to our thoughtfully designed onboarding experience, to ongoing partnership with a People Business Partner, our goal is to help Jobberinos grow, thrive, and do meaningful work. We operate as strategic partners to the business, balancing empathy and rigour, data and judgment, and today’s needs with tomorrow’s growth.
THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Manager, Workplace & Employee Experience the Workplace Operations Manager is responsible for leading workplace operations across Jobber’s offices.
In this role, you’ll oversee office buildouts, expansions, relocations, and ongoing facilities operations. You’ll partner cross-functionally with Security, IT, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to deliver spaces that are functional, compliant, and aligned with our ways of working.
You are both strategic and hands-on. You’re comfortable managing complex projects and budgets, while also rolling up your sleeves to solve operational challenges. You think in systems, build scalable processes, and proactively identify risks before they become issues.
To be successful, you are not just maintaining spaces, you’re shaping environments that enable high performance. You operate independently, influence without authority, and collaborate closely across teams to ensure our workplaces evolve alongside our growth.
AS A WORKPLACE OPERATIONS MANAGER, YOU WILL:
- Partner closely with the Manager, Workplace & Employee Experience to support office buildouts, expansions, relocations, and major renovations — driving day-to-day execution from planning through completion to ensure projects stay on track, on budget, and aligned with Jobber’s long-term workplace strategy.
- Serve as the primary on-the-ground project lead during office projects, coordinating timelines, tracking milestones, resolving operational challenges, and ensuring cross-functional alignment.
- Collaborate with brokers, landlords, architects, contractors, and vendors to support project execution and ensure spaces are delivered to agreed specifications and standards.
- Travel to existing and prospective Jobber office locations to assess operational needs, support project execution, and participate in site walkthroughs and space evaluations.
- Partner closely with Jobber’s Creative team to translate brand vision into physical space, ensuring office environments reflect and reinforce our culture and visual identity.
- Partner with Security, IT, Finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure workplace requirements — including access control, infrastructure, compliance, and budgeting — are aligned, coordinated, and delivered effectively.
- Provide guidance and operational support to Workplace Coordinators on complex or cross-office initiatives, ensuring facilities standards, vendor performance, maintenance practices, and compliance requirements are executed consistently across Jobber office locations.
- Build and maintain workplace documentation, guidelines, and scalable processes that create operational consistency across all locations.
- Support workplace budget tracking and forecasting, providing visibility into project and operational spend.
- Oversee space planning, seating strategies, and internal office moves in alignment with evolving business needs and headcount growth.
- Drive change management and internal communication efforts during workplace transitions to minimize disruption and maintain employee engagement.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, sustainability, and the overall employee experience within our workplaces.
- Support the broader Employee Experience Team by working in the office 5 days a week, supporting monthly local events, and quarterly volunteer activities.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU SHOULD HAVE:
- Proven experience in workplace operations, facilities management, office buildouts, commercial real estate, or project management—ideally within a scaling organization.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction, expansion, or relocation projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and timelines with clarity and structure.
- Financial acumen and experience managing budgets, contracts, and vendor negotiations.
- A systems-thinking mindset—you build processes that scale rather than relying on one-off solutions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. You’re comfortable preparing updates for leadership and aligning cross-functional partners.
- A proactive, problem-solving orientation. You anticipate risks and address them before they escalate.
- Resilience and adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- A collaborative approach and belief that team success is just as important as personal success.
- Experience using or eagerness to adopt modern AI agents and tools to automate scalable, repeatable tasks, enabling greater focus on high-impact, human-centered work.
