About the Role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager, AI Systems to lead the evolution of a core AI platform that powers multiple AI-driven product experiences at scale. This role operates at the intersection of engineering leadership, hands-on technical contribution, and AI product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead a cross-functional AI product engineering team, owning strategy, execution, and delivery across multiple AI-powered experiences
- →Define and drive the technical direction for AI systems, including inference backends, retrieval foundations, and user-facing AI capabilities
- →Partner closely with AI research and model training teams to align on model capabilities, evaluation frameworks, and productionization paths
- →Ensure high standards for reliability, performance, security, and token-cost efficiency of AI inference services
- →Oversee infrastructure operations, including on-call rotations and operational readiness across cloud environments
- →Operate in a player-coach model, spending approximately half of your time on hands-on engineering tasks
Requirements
- ✓4 to 7 years of experience in engineering management, leading high-performing technical teams
- ✓Recent hands-on engineering experience with TypeScript or JavaScript, Python, or Go
- ✓Strong background in B2B SaaS product development and scalable cloud-based systems
- ✓Demonstrated interest in AI and machine learning, with the ability to discuss current AI trends thoughtfully
- ✓Experience working directly on AI-powered products or platforms
- ✓Excellent communication skills and leadership presence, especially within distributed and remote teams
- ✓Willingness to participate in stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties as required
