About the Role
We are looking for a Python Developer to join a team working on government-focused projects. This role involves designing and building high-performance, secure backend systems supporting critical applications, with an emphasis on security, scalability, and reliability in production environments. The position offers remote work flexibility and opportunities to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, develop, and maintain secure RESTful APIs using Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
- →Build containerized microservices and deploy applications in AWS or other cloud environments
- →Integrate external APIs, including government and enterprise services, with robust error handling
- →Develop data processing and ETL pipelines, including SQL/NoSQL databases, and apply NLP techniques to documents
- →Implement AI/ML workflows and support model training and deployment
- →Ensure secure coding practices, authentication (OAuth 2.0/JWT), and compliance with security frameworks
- →Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive unit and integration testing
- →Contribute to agile development processes, including sprints, Git workflows, and collaborative code reviews
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- ✓7+ years of professional Python development experience
- ✓Experience with RESTful API development and microservices architecture
- ✓Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and writing efficient queries
- ✓Strong understanding of secure coding practices and authentication systems
- ✓Experience with Docker, cloud environments (AWS), and CI/CD pipelines
- ✓Familiarity with AI/ML model integration and training workflows
- ✓Knowledge of government security standards (NIST, ISO 27001, OWASP, Zero Trust)
- ✓Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
- ✓Ability to support projects in a government or DoD environment, requiring U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain clearance
