About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer (Security) to join our team in Brazil. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining advanced security features for large-scale web platforms, ensuring resilience against emerging threats and protecting sensitive data.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, develop, and deliver security features and enhancements for web platforms
- →Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure safe architectural and implementation decisions
- →Lead by example in code review, decision-making, and team culture, fostering transparency, empathy, and collaboration
- →Develop, review, and deploy security solutions implemented by the team and community contributors
- →Maintain security-critical components, address technical debt, and perform security maintenance
- →Provide support during application security incidents and operational challenges
- →Mentor and guide less experienced engineers on secure development practices
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a focus on security
- ✓Proficiency in PHP and JavaScript and experience working in modern codebases
- ✓Strong understanding of secure software development, threat modeling, and application-level vulnerabilities
- ✓Ability to break down complex projects into actionable tasks and create proofs of concept
- ✓Experience explaining security issues, privacy risks, and mitigation strategies to non-technical stakeholders
- ✓Comfort working in a remote, distributed team environment
