Role Summary
The Network Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and operating network security controls that protect Keyloop’s enterprise, cloud, and hybrid environments. This role ensures secure connectivity, segmentation, and monitoring while enabling business scalability, performance, and resilience.
The role works closely with IT Infrastructure, Cloud Platform, and Security Operations teams to manage network-related security risks and to support effective detection, response, and compliance activities
Key responsibilities
• Network Security Architecture & Design
• Design and maintain secure network architectures across on‑premise, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Define network security standards, reference architectures, and design patterns aligned with business and security requirements.
• Support the adoption of zero‑trust and least‑privilege networking principles.
• Network Security Technology Operations
• Implement, configure, and operate network security technologies, including:
• Firewalls (network and cloud-native)
• VPNs and secure remote access solutions
• IDS/IPS and network threat detection
• Secure web gateways and network security services
• DDoS protection mechanisms
• Tune and optimise security policies to balance protection, performance, and business usability.
• Connectivity & Segmentation
• Design and enforce secure connectivity between corporate networks, cloud platforms, SaaS providers, and third‑party environments.
• Implement and maintain network segmentation to reduce blast radius and lateral movement.
• Review and approve network changes to ensure security risks are identified and managed.
• Monitoring, Detection & Incident Support
• Ensure network security telemetry is available, accurate, and integrated into SIEM and SOC processes.
• Investigate network-based threats, suspicious traffic, and anomalous behaviour.
• Provide network-level expertise during security incidents, including containment and remediation actions.
• Support post-incident reviews and drive preventative improvements.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
• Work closely with IT Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security Operations teams to align security controls with operational needs.
• Act as a security subject matter expert for network-related projects and initiatives.
• Communicate network security risks and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Compliance, Assurance & Documentation
• Ensure network security controls align with NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, and SOC 2 requirements.
• Support audits and assurance activities by providing evidence, documentation, and control explanations.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, security documentation, and operational procedures.
• Continuous Improvement
• Monitor emerging network threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.
• Identify and implement improvements to network security posture and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to the ongoing maturity of Keyloop’s security engineering capability.
Essential skillsets
• 5+ years of experience in network and security engineering roles.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, and common network protocols.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise and cloud-based firewall and network security platforms.
• Experience securing hybrid and cloud-based network architectures.
