About the Role
As a Software Engineer at Kong, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing cutting-edge API gateway and cloud-native connectivity solutions. You’ll work on high-performance, scalable software that empowers organizations to manage APIs and microservices efficiently across various environments.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and develop Kong’s Gateway Operator and Ingress Controller
- →Contribute to open-source projects and engage with the community
- →Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build new features
- →Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code in Golang
- →Optimize performance for high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems
- →Build and maintain integrations with Kubernetes and cloud providers
- →Participate in technical design discussions and architect solutions
- →Troubleshoot complex system issues and ensure high availability
- →Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on backend development
- ✓Proficiency in Golang or ability to ramp up in Golang
- ✓Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and the cloud-native ecosystem
- ✓Experience designing high-performance, scalable distributed systems
- ✓Familiarity with APIs, microservices, and networking concepts
- ✓Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, and debugging techniques
- ✓Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
- ✓Ability to contribute to open-source projects
- ✓Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities
