About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team working on the Managed Gateways platform. This role involves building critical components, leading feature delivery, and mentoring peers in a high-velocity, pre-IPO environment.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, develop, and operate highly available distributed systems for Managed Gateways
- →Own and lead delivery of key features/modules from design through implementation
- →Build microservices and control-plane components for Kong’s Dedicated Cloud and Serverless Gateways
- →Partner with Product and Engineering teams to deliver new features at scale
- →Participate in on-call rotations, owning services in production
- →Write automated tests, observability hooks, and tooling to ensure reliability
- →Assist in the hiring process and mentor engineers on the team
- →Contribute to shaping the technical roadmap for Managed Gateways
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- ✓5+ years of experience building high-performance software
- ✓Strong experience with Golang
- ✓Deep understanding of distributed systems, networking, and cloud-native architectures
- ✓Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Kubernetes
- ✓Experience building APIs and designing systems for 99.99%+ uptime SLAs
- ✓Ability to debug complex systems from packet level to high-level design
- ✓Knowledge of observability and monitoring practices
- ✓Strong communication and collaboration skills
