Your Opportunity:β― 
You will work as part of a national team that is positive, collaborative and development focused. This role is ideally suited to candidates that have experience applying and navigating the technical accounting frameworks (i.e., the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Accounting Standards, Australian Accounting Standards and various Government and State reporting frameworks), and who are seeking an opportunity to apply and enhance their knowledge to a fast-moving deals environment, growing it beyond just debits and credits, whilst also continuing to demonstrate a breadth of accounting topics and issues via bespoke accounting advice deliverables. 
You will have the opportunity to: 
β’ Support the delivery of complex projects including end to end project management, developing key client deliverables, preparing client reports and presentations, and consulting with senior leadership and external advisors. 
β’ Provide high-quality technical accounting advice across multiple sectors, both public and private, on the accounting implications of significant business events and transactions. 
β’ Work collaboratively with broader KPMG advisory teams including transactions services, valuations and deal advisory, in support of the clientsβ goals. 
β’ Mentor and coach junior team members in respect of technical accounting and internal policies and procedures. 
β’ Build and develop strong relationships with clients, deal counterparties and other advisors within transaction advisory. 
β’ Support our strategic initiatives including assisting with the development of innovative solutions and taking those solutions to market, for example, use of AI in adapting the delivery accounting advisory services to provide value to our clients. 
β’ Demonstrate a knowledge-sharing mindset and builds a constructive culture by proactively sharing what you know with other KPMG people, teams and functions. 
β’ As part of the broader CFO Advisory team, you will have the opportunity to apply the skills you develop to our other services offerings (e.g., Derivative Advisory, Digital Work Tools and Finance Function Reporting Advisory).  What we are looking for:  
β’ Relevant tertiary qualifications including Chartered Accountant or equivalent (completed or currently undertaking) coupled with relevant experience in audit, advisory or assurance in Professional Services or in industry. 
β’ Minimum of 5 yearsβ experience, with the relevant accounting topics under IFRS / AASB such as business combinations, consolidation and equity method, financial instruments, revenue and leases.  
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to present findings and insights clearly and precisely. 
β’ Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 
β’ A commercial and analytical mindset with well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and strong project management skills. 
β’ Strong people focus with a commitment to developing high performing teams and fosters an inclusive and collaborative culture. 
β’ Interest across multiple sectors and industries preferred (e.g., Corporates, Financial Services, Public Sector). Additional Information
