About the Role
Larian Studios, known for Baldur's Gate 3 and Divinity: Original Sin 2, is seeking a Tools Programmer to join their team. This role involves developing and maintaining tools to support high-quality game development and improve content creation workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- →Develop and maintain all development tools
- →Design, implement and maintain user interfaces
- →Identify and solve problems in content creation workflows and pipelines
- →Engage closely with narrative tools across writing, scripting and cinematics departments
- →Work with multi-disciplinary teams to implement new engine and editor features
- →Drive feature development and find optimal solutions for new engine and tools features
- →Communicate openly with team members and stakeholders
- →Represent the team and its ideals in daily communication
- →Act as a role model and mentor for fellow team members
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of experience creating tools for game development
- ✓Shipped game titles
- ✓Excellent C# and .NET skills for desktop applications
- ✓Deep understanding of WPF and XAML
- ✓Experience with UI/UX and tool design
- ✓Experience improving long-lived internal tools with legacy components
- ✓Thorough C++ knowledge
- ✓Open-minded and willing to iterate based on feedback
- ✓Ability to analyze and understand workflows of other disciplines
- ✓Seek constructive criticism and discuss issues with end-users
- ✓Passionate about improving developer productivity
- ✓Team player willing to take ownership of tools, planning and communication
- ✓Fluent written and spoken English
- ✓Full-time, on-site role requiring office presence

- ✓Familiarity with Python
- ✓Experience developing digital content creation pipelines
- ✓Experience writing plugins/tools for Maya/Blender
- ✓Experience making mods for larger games
