Level is looking for an experienced 3D Artist. In this role, you will be responsible for creating visually compelling and high-quality 3D assets across multiple games and various visual styles.
Working closely with the Art Director and cross-disciplinary teams, you will 3D model, texture and integrate in-engine assets while maintaining consistency with our artistic vision. Your contributions will directly shape the player experience, bringing vibrant, engaging worlds to life.
What You Will Do:
- Work with the Art Director to execute and maintain the visual style of our games, ensuring cohesive artistic direction across all your assets.
- Develop and implement high-quality 3D assets, including modeling, UV mapping, texturing, and lighting.
- Work across different visual styles while exploring new techniques and innovations in 3D game art.
- Collaborate with designers, animators, and engineers to ensure art assets align with gameplay mechanics and technical requirements.
- Participate in feedback sessions, offering and receiving constructive critique to maintain a high-quality artistic standards.
- Contribute to and refine the 3D asset pipeline, helping optimize workflows and efficiency opportunities.
- Develop strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- As you become more familiar with projects, you'll be expected to contribute creatively, suggesting new assets and ideas that fit the game's style.
- Be comfortable working across varied projects - adapting to changes in priorities, integrating new tools and pipelines, and incorporating feedback as part of our iterative development process.
- Proactively identify opportunities to use any other multi-disciplinary skills that could enhance the overall quality of our projects or support the wider team.
What You Need:
- Experience working from concept through final in-game assets, with an emphasis on adaptability and iteration.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Maya, Max or Blender.
- Demonstrated understanding of 3D art principles and ability to implement those principals with an eye toward innovation and pipeline efficiency
- Knowledge of texture mapping and lighting for characters, environments and props
- Ability to work efficiently within an asset pipeline, ensuring smooth integration of art into the game engine.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to feedback in a collaborative, iterative development environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to self-manage tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to optimize your work to fit the technical constraints of the platform.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with animation pipelines
- Familiarity with 2D Art, VFX or other art pipelines
- Knowledge of procedural asset generation and modern art production techniques.
- Previous experience in stylized or illustrative game art styles.
