About the Role
We are building the Global Financial Platform and scaling our engineering organization rapidly. As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will join the Foundation Team responsible for architecting the internal quality infrastructure that enables every engineer at Light to ship with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build and implement test frameworks, fixtures, and data management patterns across multiple languages and frameworks
- →Develop strategies for realistic, safe test data in a fintech context
- →Create standardized testing processes and maintain the testing section of our engineering playbook
- →Implement quality gates in CI/CD and build test observability
- →Write tests in high-risk areas to model good practice and stabilize production
- →Coach engineers across teams on test design and help them adopt new practices
- →Build evaluation frameworks for AI features
Requirements
- ✓Significant experience building test infrastructure and tooling
- ✓Comfort working across multiple languages including Kotlin, TypeScript, and Python
- ✓Platform mindset focused on unblocking engineers with tools
- ✓Strong focus on reliability and hate flaky tests
- ✓Ability to influence without authority and coach engineers
- ✓Experience building evaluation frameworks for LLM-based systems
