About the Role
We are seeking a Distinguished Engineer to join the Solstice Team at LinkedIn. This role involves architecting and delivering core distributed systems primitives for Microsoft's AI stack, focusing on scalable Kubernetes scheduling, metadata storage, model serving control planes, observability, and global routing.
Key Responsibilities
- →Drive the engineering systems vision spanning hermetic builds (Bazel), continuous deployment, cryptographic supply chain integrity, infrastructure-as-code, and identity/security
- →Partner directly with senior engineering leaders across LinkedIn and Microsoft to define technical strategy and drive execution of mission-critical AI workloads
- →Help define business strategy and technical strategy and drive alignment cross-functionally
- →Head cross-team/cross-functional discussions and drive alignment on technology strategy
- →Improve the level of craftsmanship at LinkedIn by developing best practices and defining best strategies
- →Define the bar for quality and efficiency of software systems while balancing business impact, operational impact, and cost benefits
- →Establish a culture that values diverse viewpoints while navigating complex decisions
Requirements
- ✓Extensive experience in distributed systems and infrastructure design
- ✓Strong background in Kubernetes, metadata storage, and model serving
- ✓Proven ability to lead technical strategy and drive execution
- ✓Experience with AI platforms and cloud infrastructure
- ✓Excellent leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
