Role Summary
The Salesforce Developer is a senior, hands-on engineer responsible for building, configuring, and maintaining the Salesforce ecosystem that powers Litmos's go-to-market, customer experience, and revenue operations. Operating as a remote member of the GTM Operations team, this role partners closely with the Director, GTM Business Partner to translate defined business requirements into scalable, well-architected technical solutions across Revenue Cloud, Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Community (Experience Cloud), and Service Cloud.
This role builds what is defined β and does not define what is built. It operates within a structured workflow where business intent is translated into technical specifications by the GTM Business Partner, then designed, built, tested, and deployed by the developer. Given the remote nature of the engagement, this role demands a high bar for accountability, communication discipline, and delivery reliability.
This is not a contractor role and is not a Salesforce admin role. It is a dedicated, full-time technical builder embedded in the GTM operating model, accountable for the integrity, quality, and timeliness of system delivery.
Core Responsibilities
β’ Salesforce Development & Configuration
β’ Design and build scalable solutions across the Salesforce platform: Revenue Cloud (CPQ, Billing), Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud (Community), and Service Cloud
β’ Develop Apex classes, triggers, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and integrations to meet defined business requirements
β’ Configure standard and custom objects, page layouts, record types, validation rules, permission sets, and profiles
β’ Maintain code quality, deployment hygiene, and adherence to Salesforce best practices
β’ Multi-Cloud Solution Delivery
β’ Revenue Cloud: Build and maintain CPQ quoting, product catalog, pricing, approval workflows, and billing automation
β’ Data Cloud: Configure data streams, unified profiles, segmentation, and activations supporting GTM and CX use cases
β’ Marketing Cloud: Develop journeys, automations, data extensions, and personalization logic; integrate with the broader Salesforce data model
β’ Experience Cloud (Community): Build and maintain customer and partner community sites, including authentication, navigation, content surfacing, and case deflection
β’ Service Cloud: Configure case management, omni-channel routing, knowledge, service consoles, and escalation logic
β’ Agentic & AI Implementation
β’ Build, configure, and maintain Agentforce-based solutions and AI-driven workflows across the Salesforce platform
β’ Implement prompt templates, agent actions, and Einstein-driven automations aligned to GTM and CX use cases
β’ Apply emerging Salesforce AI capabilities responsibly, with attention to data governance, accuracy, and user trust
β’ Integration & Data Architecture
β’ Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and adjacent systems (Pardot, Qualified, PlanHat, and others as required)
β’ Ensure clean, governed data flow across the GTM stack, with attention to source of truth, deduplication, and field-level integrity
β’ Partner with the GTM Business Partner to ensure the data model supports defined reporting and process needs
β’ Quality, Testing & Deployment
β’ Develop and execute unit tests, regression tests, and deployment plans for all changes
β’ Participate in UAT cycles led by the GTM Business Partner, fixing defects with speed and precision
β’ Follow defined release management, version control, and sandbox strategies β no production changes without process
β’ Documentation & Knowledge Management
β’ Maintain technical documentation for all builds: data models, integration flows, code comments, and deployment notes
β’ Produce clear handover documentation that enables future developers and admins to operate the system without dependency on tribal knowledge
β’ Operate transparently β every meaningful build is documented and discoverable
β’ Remote Operating Discipline
β’ Maintain clear, proactive communication across time zones with the GTM Operations team and stakeholders
β’ Provide regular status updates, surface blockers early, and meet committed deadlines
β’ Operate with high autonomy while remaining accountable for output, quality, and responsiveness
Scope & Operating Model
β’ Hybrid, full-time, India-based member of the GTM Operations team
β’ Reports to: Director, GTM Business Partner (or designate)
β’ Operates within the defined GTM workflow: Business Need β GTM Business Partner β Technical Design β Build β Test β Deploy β Measure
β’ Does not gather business requirements directly β partners with the GTM Business Partner who owns translation
β’ Working hours: Sufficient overlap with North American business hours required to support delivery cycles, daily standups, and stakeholder check-ins
Qualifications & Experience
β’ 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience in enterprise B2B SaaS environments
β’ Demonstrated production experience across all five clouds: Revenue Cloud, Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud (Community), and Service Cloud
β’ Agentforce experience or Salesforce AI/Agent certification required (Agentforce Specialist or equivalent)
β’ Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I (required); Platform Developer II (strongly preferred)
β’ Salesforce Certified Administrator (required)
β’ Additional cloud-specific certifications strongly preferred (CPQ Specialist, Marketing Cloud Developer, Data Cloud Consultant, Experience Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant)
β’ Proven experience with Apex, LWC, SOQL, Flow, REST/SOAP APIs, and Salesforce DX
β’ Verifiable track record of remote delivery for North American or European clients
Key Skills & Competencies
β’ Build Discipline: Builds what is defined; raises issues with requirements rather than improvising silently
β’ Technical Depth: Strong command of Salesforce platform capabilities across multiple clouds and the AI/agent layer
β’ Systems Thinking: Understands how technical decisions affect downstream data, process, and reporting
β’ Execution Rigor: High standards for code quality, testing, deployment, and documentation
β’ Accountability: Owns commitments, meets deadlines, and proactively surfaces risk
β’ Communication: Clear, structured, and timely written and verbal communication in English β essential for remote operating
β’ Autonomy with Discipline: Operates independently within process, not outside of it
Accountability & Reference Requirements
Given the remote nature of this role and the level of trust required, candidates must:
β’ Provide a minimum of three professional references from prior managers or senior stakeholders β at least two from engagements within the past three years
β’ Provide at least one reference from a remote engagement with a North American or European client
β’ Consent to a structured technical evaluation including live problem-solving and code review
β’ Consent to background verification of certifications, employment history, and identity per Litmos policy
Success Metrics
β’ On-time, on-quality delivery of defined initiatives across Revenue, Data, Marketing, Experience, and Service Cloud
β’ Low defect rate post-deployment and reduced UAT rework cycles
β’ Documentation completeness across all delivered solutions
β’ Stakeholder trust in delivery reliability and communication
β’ Demonstrable system improvements: cleaner data, more reliable integrations, fewer manual workarounds
β’ Successful adoption of agentic and AI capabilities into production GTM and CX workflows
