About the Role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Mapping XP Services team at Lyft. This role will drive an AI-powered transformation to build AI agents that extract valuable insights from real-time data, automate map improvements, and enhance the rideshare experience.
Key Responsibilities
- →Set the technical vision and strategy for a rapidly evolving product area
- →Co-own the product strategy with the product partner and ensure timely delivery of engineering solutions
- →Lead a team of engineers who ship code and tackle hard engineering problems
- →Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of team members
- →Build collaborative, inclusive, and respectful teams
- →Provide continuous feedback and recognize individual strengths and contributions
- →Create plans for prioritizing technical and resourcing challenges
- →Maintain a balance between building sustainable projects and shipping quickly
- →Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in code, architecture, and processes
- →Work with the Lyft recruiting team to hire high-potential candidates
- →Create roadmap, short-term, and long-term goals with engineers and product managers
- →Own team deliverables and ensure scalable, highly-available products
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- ✓4+ years of experience managing engineering teams
- ✓Strong proficiency in backend (Python, Go, Java, C++) and frontend (JavaScript, React.js) technologies
- ✓Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- ✓Experience architecting, building, and scaling distributed systems
- ✓Experience launching consumer-facing products and iterating through data-driven experimentation
- ✓Experience leading teams through career development
- ✓Ability to motivate and instill a strong sense of ownership in your team
- ✓Experience guiding teams through planning, prioritization, and execution
- ✓Ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment and drive projects to completion
- ✓Ability to work well with product and science partners and set the product vision
