About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Foundational Models team at Lyft. This role involves collaborating with Product, Data Science, and Operations to build and deploy tools that accelerate iteration and drive business efficiency. You will be responsible for infusing AI capabilities into existing workflows and demonstrating agility in adopting emerging AI models.
Key Responsibilities
- →Partner with scientists, analysts, and business users to build and productionize foundational models and tools for running our Marketplace
- →Help define the roadmap and architecture based on technology and business needs
- →Help lead large projects from idea to positive execution
- →Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code
- →Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
- →Design, build and improve a set of team owned components
- →Participate in on-call rotations to maintain high availability and reliability of workflows and data pipelines
- →Collaborate with internal and external partners to remove blockers, provide support, and achieve results
- →Share your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and promoting appropriate tech and engineering best practices
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of software engineering industry experience
- ✓Proficiency in Python and experience with object-oriented programming
- ✓Experience in distributed systems
- ✓Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases
- ✓Demonstrated ability to write scalable and clear design documentation
- ✓Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
- ✓Prior experience working closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Business decision-makers
