The Role
Lyrebird is expanding its enterprise footprint across healthcare systems in Australia, the UK, and the UAE, and this role sits at the sharp end of that growth. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll be the technical bridge between our product and the complex environments our largest customers operate in. You'll design and deliver integrations across HL7, FHIR, EMRs, and enterprise auth systems, working directly with pre-sales to unblock deals and with engineering to ensure the solutions you build find their way into the core platform. Your work isn't just support. It ships.
This role suits an engineer who thrives in ambiguity and finds energy in variety. You move comfortably between writing production-grade TypeScript and sitting in a room with a hospital CTO, earning trust with both your code and your communication. You're a natural problem-solver who takes pride in solutions that are elegant enough to scale, and pragmatic enough to ship. If you want your work to matter immediately, to real customers in real clinical settings, this is that job.
About Us
Lyrebird Health is transforming the quality and accessibility of healthcare by automating clinicians' most time-consuming tasks.
Thousands of clinicians across multiple disciplines use Lyrebird every day in environments where accuracy, safety, and time matter deeply. Everything we build is grounded in earning trust, reducing cognitive load, and delivering meaningful impact at scale.

β’

β’
Write clear technical documentation, implementation guides, and API references that customers and internal teams can rely on
β’
Collaborate across Engineering, Product, and Pre-Sales to align customer solutions with the product roadmap
β’
Work to customer schedules across Australia, UK, and UAE, with occasional travel for key accounts
What you'll bring
β’
Strong hands-on coding skills in TypeScript and JavaScript, with clean, production-ready output
β’

β’
Solid understanding of OAuth, token-based auth, and secure integration practices in regulated environments
β’
An application-focused engineering mindset with baseline skills in AWS and networking
β’
The communication skills to work directly with enterprise technical stakeholders and earn their trust
Nice to have
β’
Familiarity with additional languages such as C#, PHP, or Java
β’
Experience with healthcare data standards including HL7, FHIR, and MLLP
β’
Awareness of data residency and privacy requirements in regulated sectors
β’
Prior experience in a forward deployed, solutions engineering, or customer-facing technical role
When clinicians spend less time on documentation, they spend more time with patients. The work you do here, unblocking a deal, shipping an integration, writing an API guide, flows directly into that outcome. You'll be a technical force-multiplier for some of the most important customer relationships Lyrebird has, and the solutions you build will shape how we scale.
We're building a team that reflects the diversity of the people who benefit from our work. We want Lyrebird to be a place where everyone feels safe, supported, and able to thrive. If you're from an underrepresented background in tech, we strongly encourage you to apply, even if you don't meet every requirement.
