ABOUT MACH INDUSTRIES
Founded in 2022, Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. At the core of our mission is the commitment to delivering scalable, decentralized defense systems that enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies. With a workforce of approximately 220 employees, we operate with startup agility and ambition.
Our vision is to redefine the future of warfare through cutting-edge manufacturing, innovation at speed, and unwavering focus on national security. We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.
THE ROLE
As a Senior Test Integration Engineer you will own electrical interconnect systems across our UAV platforms. This is a highly hands-on role focused on designing, building, and validating harnesses that operate in demanding environments. Youβll work across electrical, mechanical, and test teams to deliver reliable, lightweight, and production-ready harness solutions, while also contributing to test infrastructure like fixtures and system test racks. This role requires speed, autonomy, and a strong bias toward execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Harness Design & Ownership
β’ Own end-to-end design of UAV wiring harnesses: concept β prototype β production.
β’ Design for power, high-speed signals, RF, and mixed-signal systems under tight size, weight, and power constraints.
β’ Rapidly iterate on harness layouts, routing, and packaging with mechanical and electrical teams.
β’ Select connectors, shielding strategies, wire types, and protection schemes for harsh
environments (vibration, temperature, EMI).
β’ Drive design decisions with a focus on reliability, manufacturability, and field serviceability.
- Build, Integration & Validation
β’ Build and prototype harnesses hands-on; not just design them.
β’ Lead bring-up and integration of harnesses into full vehicle systems.
β’ Define and execute validation: continuity, insulation resistance, shielding effectiveness, and system-level functional checks.
β’ Identify and fix issues quickly during integration and flight test cycles.
- Test Infrastructure
β’ Design and build harness test fixtures, breakout boxes, and system test racks.
β’ Enable fast debugging with smart access points, instrumentation hooks, and modular test setups.
β’ Partner with test engineering to improve coverage, speed, and repeatability of validation workflows.
- Production & Scaling
β’ Work directly with technicians and vendors to transition harnesses from prototype to production.
β’ Define build processes, QA checks, and acceptance criteria.
β’ Troubleshoot production issues (opens/shorts, intermittent faults, connector failures, shielding gaps).
β’ Continuously improve harness designs based on production and field feedback.
- Failure Analysis & Debugging
β’ Own root-cause analysis of electrical interconnect failures in lab, production, and field.
β’ Use oscilloscopes, DMMs, hipot testers, and other tools to diagnose complex issues.
β’ Drive corrective actions quickly and prevent recurrence.
- Documentation
β’ Create and maintain harness drawings, pinouts, and build docs.
β’ Keep documentation lightweight, accurate, and usable by technicians.
β’ Maintain revision control without slowing down development speed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and building wiring harnesses or electrical interconnect systems
- Deep understanding of connectors, shielding, grounding, and cable design for real-world environments.
- Strong ability to read and create schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness documentation.
- Proven experience taking hardware from prototype through production.
- Comfortable working with standard electrical test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, continuity/hipot testers).
- Demonstrated ability to move fast, iterate quickly, and solve problems with minimal direction
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with UAVs, aerospace systems, robotics, or other high-performance hardware.
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC best practices and high-reliability design.
- Experience with harness CAD tools (SolidWorks Electrical, CATIA, Zuken, Altium, etc.).
- Background in designing or supporting test fixtures, breakout systems, or test racks.
- Hands-on experience working with contract manufacturers or in-house production teams
