About the Role
Magnet Forensics is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the development of next-generation digital forensics tools. This role involves shaping engineering direction, mentoring high-performing engineers, and guiding teams to adopt modern practices including AI integration.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and implement systems that support critical investigations where minutes matter
- →Solve complex technical challenges in distributed systems, large-scale data processing, and performance optimization
- →Mentor engineers and provide architectural guidance to help them deliver their best work
- →Shape how AI is used responsibly and effectively across product and engineering practices
- →Guide engineering direction and influence cross-team decisions
Requirements
- ✓8+ years of professional software development experience, ideally across backend (C# or similar) and frontend (JavaScript/React or similar)
- ✓2+ years management experience with Agile/Scrum practices
- ✓4+ years of experience shipping SaaS solutions to production
- ✓Strong architectural skills in distributed systems, API design, data modeling, and secure system design
- ✓Excellent mentorship and leadership skills
- ✓Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerization, scaling, and troubleshooting
- ✓Proficiency with relational and/or distributed data stores (MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redis)
- ✓Clear communication skills across Engineering, Product, and UX teams
- ✓Experience with agentic AI and modern SDLC practices
