About the Role
MaintainX is seeking a Search Platform Engineer to design and build our end-to-end search and retrieval platform. This role involves working with product and domain experts to model search across core entities and optimize distributed systems for reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and build MaintainX’s end-to-end search and retrieval platform
- →Partner with product and domain experts to model search across core entities
- →Operate and optimize distributed systems for reliability and performance
- →Drive architectural decisions balancing correctness and performance
- →Own integrations between search systems and upstream data sources
- →Explore semantic search, vector retrieval, and AI-enhanced relevance
Requirements
- ✓Hands-on experience designing production-grade search systems
- ✓Understanding of embeddings, chunking, and retrieval strategies
- ✓Familiarity with search-specific tuning and optimization
- ✓Comfort taking systems from implementation to production operation
- ✓Experience with technologies like Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Lucene, or Solr
