Linguist Assistant - Full Time Contract at Mangolanguage

Educational Consultant for Foreign Language Exploratory Program | Anywhere | Linguists / Contractors | Contract (Part-time, Hourly)   Mango Languages is looking for an experienced educational consultant and subject matter expert to assist with the development of a Foreign Language Exploratory Program (“FLEX”), also called a World Language Discovery Program. This is a part-time, short-term, remote, hourly contract position. As the subject matter expert for the FLEX program development project, you will leverage your experience teaching world languages to younger learners (upper elementary through middle school) to guide the development of high-quality language learning content and curriculum features. You will meet regularly with the content development team during the product development phase to provide general guidance, as well as review drafted lesson plans and classroom materials and provide detailed, asynchronous feedback. The ideal candidate is an expert in making engaging world language instructional materials for 5th-8th grade learners, can speak on the current product landscape of FLEX/language discovery programs, and can convey that knowledge into actionable guidance for product development. Clear communication and time management are essential skills. Responsibilities • Work collaboratively with remote team members to support the creation of high-quality language curriculum content • Implement large-scale content revisions in alignment with Mango Languages’ standard of excellence • Review and polish language learning material with an eye for consistency, design, functionality, and ADA compliance • Act as copy editor of course content and supplemental materials • Communicate effectively and respectfully with internal and external team members • Support efforts to document internal processes • Assist with daily tasks and operations of the team • Attend and participate in regular team meetings Job Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics, Education, or a related field • Experience reviewing and copy editing educational materials • Experience with administrative tasks such as file management and documentation • Passion for learning about languages and cultures • Takes responsibility for quality of work • Demonstrates attention to detail • Advanced knowledge of Google Suite, especially Google Slides, preferred • Ability to learn and apply ADA (the Americans with Disabilities Act) standards in work • A global perspective with international experience • Experience having learned a second language preferred • Reliable internet connection Key Characteristics • Enthusiasm for tasks requiring close attention to detail • Proven track record of consistently meeting deadlines • Strong communication skills and responsiveness • Highly organized • Able to receive and give feedback • Readiness to think critically and ask questions • Reacts positively to change • Must work well in a team How to Apply • Submit both a resume and cover letter outlining your experience and qualifications as they relate to the job description. • Candidates who do not submit a full cover letter will not be considered.
