About the Role
We are looking for a high-energy, ambitious Marketing Content Strategist to join MariaDB. This role focuses on developing content strategies to position MariaDB as a leading database in the era of AI.
Key Responsibilities
- →Execute a content strategy that aligns with corporate messaging to reposition MariaDB as the modern, higher-value alternative to MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- →Own our visibility in the new search landscape, optimizing content for both Google and LLM rankings.
- →Build and own the global editorial calendar to ensure a consistent, high-quality stream of content.
- →Act as the primary editor and a key writer, working with internal engineers and external freelancers.
- →Use AI writing and research tools as a core part of your workflow to scale content production.
- →Establish a clear process for content production, giving the entire organization visibility into what is being published and when.
Requirements
- ✓3–5 years of professional writing or content marketing experience.
- ✓Background in journalism, reporting, or professional blogging is highly preferred.
- ✓Fast, versatile writer capable of turning interviews into SEO/LLM-optimized blog posts.
- ✓Experience using LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for brainstorming, outlining, and drafting.
- ✓Technical curiosity and eagerness to learn about SQL and the database market.
- ✓Interpersonal skills for interviewing stakeholders to extract great stories.
- ✓Organizational skills with experience using Kanban boards or spreadsheets.
