Job Summary
We’re excited to share this role on the Business Intelligence Team which is part of the larger Finance organization. Reporting to and working in close collaboration with the Director of Business Intelligence as part of the dynamic team that reports business results, informs strategic action, and implements special projects at a fast-pace growing mid-sized company. The scope of the Business Intelligence team includes:
Reporting and Data Visualization. We design and architect the front-end for compelling, best-in-class data visualization solutions that support Client Service, Sales, Finance, Senior Leadership, and the Board.
Strategic Analytics. We conduct detailed analysis to answer strategic business questions like understanding variations in Advisor productivity and Sales results, developing insights around client retention, measuring channel opportunity and supporting our Partner Development team as they evaluate prospective M&A opportunities. This person should demonstrate analytical skills when partnering with business owners by sharing recommendations and solutions.
Data Integration. We combine data from a variety of sources and business areas; leveraging custom data pipelines (Python, SQL, etc.) to extract, transform, and load to our data warehouse. The BI team has a culture of collaborating to drive continuous reliability and automation enhancements in our reporting processes. Team members are “full-stack” BI developers by creating our own ETL jobs and loading tables in addition to creating reports and analyses.
Essential Job Functions
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will develop and oversee reports and tools that indicate performance of key elements of the Mercer business and identify levers for improvement. The focus for this role is Sales & Marketing Analytics and Reporting and Client Service Operational Performance. The portfolio of projects is anticipated to initially include:
• Sales & Marketing Analytics and Reporting – Develop and maintain analytics tools, dashboards, and data sources to assist firm leaders in the Sales and Marketing functions in effectively sourcing and converting new business leads including:
• Sales Analytics – Build dashboards and reporting to measure sales performance, drive decisions, and highlight opportunities to improve sales effectiveness.
• Marketing Analytics – Analyze marketing campaign performance, lead generation activity, and funnel conversion to support strategic decision making.
• Pipeline Data – Design and maintain scalable data sources ensuring consistency, flexibility, and usability. Cleanse, tag, and structure sales data to ensure accuracy and alignment across systems. Perform ongoing data quality checks and implement processes to improve data integrity.
• Leadership Support – Collaborate with executive leadership, including the Head of Client Development, SVP of Client Development and Revenue Operations, as well as Chief Marketing Officer, and their teams to measure and enhance new client sourcing measurements and level of performance
• Client Service Operational Performance – Collaborate with Head of Client Service, Chief Solutions Officer and SVP, Investment Platform Operations to deliver continuous productivity improvement and exceed client expectations.
• Performance Metrics – Develop data sources, metrics, and dashboards that enable client service to understand performance and ensure SLAs are met.
• Workflows – Create workflow tools and dashboards that assist in operational groups assigning out and completing tasks associated with serving clients.
• Automation – Implement automation to identify potential delivery challenges, enabling proactive resolution to enhance client satisfaction.
Key technologies today are Orion, Salesforce, Power BI, Azure Synapse, Python, and Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
• 3 – 7 years of data analytics, statistics, and/or reporting experience
• Bachelor’s degree from a selective, accredited institution required (with preference to the fields of Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or STEM disciplines)
• Successful completion of analytic coursework (e.g., economics, mathematics, physical sciences)
• Results-oriented with proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
• Self-motivated and proactive with aptitude for critical thinking and problem solving
• Exceptional and persuasive communicator and facilitator with the ability to effectively interface with executive management
• Shows flexibility and adaptability in an environment with rapidly changing business and technology needs
• Curiosity to learn new skills and eagerness to form new relationships
• Expert level with Power BI. Proficiency with SQL, Python, Excel, PowerPoint. Salesforce experience preferred.
Actual base pay within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills and licenses/certifications. This position is also eligible to earn incentive compensation through one of Mercer Advisors’ incentive compensation programs.
Base Pay Range $90,000—$120,000 USDBenefits:
