About the Role
Metropolis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Revenue Platform team. This role involves leading the development and maintenance of billing and invoicing systems, ensuring accurate processing of millions of transactions. You will collaborate with Accounting and cross-functional partners to build reliable financial workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- →Own the engineering execution and evolution of the billing and invoicing platform
- →Scale backend infrastructure to handle increasing demands
- →Lead technical delivery of Stripe integrations and payment interface enhancements
- →Design and implement payment authorization logic for diverse merchant models
- →Partner with Accounting to resolve billing disputes and improve transparency
- →Build and maintain reliable billing jobs for the company’s revenue engine
- →Deliver end-to-end features for business and financial operations
- →Drive engineering best practices including monitoring and transaction integrity
- →Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence
- →Manage release processes and on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- ✓6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
- ✓Master Java/Scala and JVM-based environments
- ✓Utilize relational databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL
- ✓Build and scale distributed systems within AWS
- ✓Own complex features independently from design to deployment
- ✓Communicate technical concepts effectively to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders
- ✓Navigate and improve complex codebases
- ✓Deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced environment
- ✓Utilize AI-assisted development tools
- ✓Reside locally in the Seattle area
