About the Role
Metropolis is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for their Network Expansion team. This role involves building new functionality to support expansion into new mobility verticals and complex parking markets.
Key Responsibilities
- →Provide technical direction that influences the entire company
- →Lead large, cross-team initiatives through the entire development lifecycle
- →Lead multiple engineering teams towards a common goal
- →Work cross-functionally with designers and product managers
- →Own outcomes and responsible for real-world metrics shifts
- →Moderate technical discussions and evaluate new techniques
- →Leverage automation testing and deployment practices
- →Build a culture where production mistakes are treated as improvement opportunities
- →Coach engineers and drive talent acquisition
Requirements
- ✓MS or BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- ✓10+ years of experience building customer-centric applications
- ✓Proven track record of designing distributed systems
- ✓Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures
- ✓Experience with Agile engineering processes including TDD/BDD, CI/CD
- ✓Experience with database technologies like MySQL and Postgres
- ✓Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ✓Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration
- ✓Able to work in the office in Santa Monica, New York City, or Seattle
