As Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer II, youβll responsible for protecting Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) within classified Azure and AWS environments. This role focuses on preventing, detecting, and mitigating cyber risk while enabling mission delivery in alignment with ICD, DoD 8140, and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA).
The position emphasizes defensive security engineering, risk based decision making, and continuous authorization, ensuring security controls are engineered, enforced, monitored, and auditable across the Intelligence Community Information Environment (IC IE).

What youβll do:
β’ Engineer and operate security controls supporting ICD risk management and authorization
β’ Implement Zero Trust as an operational security model
β’ Enforce continuous verification, least privilege, and access segmentation
β’ Apply Zero Trust principles across identity, device, network, application, and data layers
β’ Architect security boundaries, isolation mechanisms, and blast radius containment
β’ Lead threat modeling and adversary focused security design reviews
β’ Apply defense in depth strategies for classified workloads
β’ Ensure SCI protection across compute, storage, and data flows
β’ Enforce strong identity assurance using Azure AD and AWS IAM
β’ Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines using Infrastructure as Code
β’ Implement policy as code, guardrails, and automated enforcement
β’ Integrate security testing (IaC scanning, container security, secrets detection)
β’ Integrate cloud telemetry with IC approved SIEM and monitoring platforms
β’ Define detection use cases aligned to cloud threat vectors
What youβll need to succeed:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
β’ Active TS/SCI clearance
β’ 7+ years of cybersecurity experience with strong cloud security engineering
β’ Hands on experience securing Azure and AWS environments
β’ Experience supporting ICD governed systems
β’ Strong understanding of defensive security, Zero Trust, and risk management
β’ Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and security automation
β’ Ability to brief risk and security posture to technical and government leadership
SALARY RANGE: $174,000 - $200,000
The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:
β’ The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
β’ The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
β’ Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
β’ This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
β’ Performance-based bonuses
β’ Company-paid training and/or certifications
β’ Referral bonuses
