About the Role

We are looking for a C++ Back End Engineer to join our team at Monk Technology Services. This role involves designing and building the next generation of cloud-based microservices that power high-throughput trading workflows, supporting tokenized asset negotiation, trade capture, and settlement orchestration.

Key Responsibilities

→Design, develop, and maintain modern C++ backend services for cloud-based microservices
→Contribute to application design, system architecture, and roadmap decisions with hands-on implementation ownership
→Build and enhance platform components for tokenized asset negotiation, trade capture, and settlement orchestration
→Integrate backend services with DAML ledgers, internal services, and external APIs (gRPC/REST)
→Define message formats and stable API contracts; implement serialization using protobuf/flatbuffers
→Write and maintain unit and integration tests; participate in and lead code/design reviews
→Diagnose and resolve CPU, memory, and I/O bottlenecks using profiling and debugging tools
→Drive CI/CD automation, performance/correctness checks, and strong operational practices
→Design for 24/7 trading: fault tolerance, graceful degradation, idempotency, backpressure/retry strategies, and fast recovery
→Identify and prioritize remediation of critical production and client-facing issues

Requirements

✓5+ years of relevant C++ development experience
✓Strong modern C++ expertise (templates, RAII, move semantics, data structures, design patterns)
✓Strong Linux systems programming experience (gcc/clang, CMake, Conan or equivalent)
✓Deep knowledge of multithreading, synchronization/atomics, and concurrency debugging
✓Production experience shipping high-availability cloud microservices with robust operational practices
✓Proficiency with profiling/debugging tooling (perf, gdb, valgrind, sanitizers)
✓Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams
✓Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent practical experience
