Weβre looking for an Energy Solutions Engineer to join NRMA Energy, supporting the design, delivery and commissioning of energy and EV charging infrastructure across Australia. 
In this role, youβll work closely with internal teams and external partners to provide engineering support across land acquisition, infrastructure procurement, site design, delivery and commissioning, helping deliver NRMAβs national EV charging network and broader distributed energy ambitions. 
This is a fullβtime opportunity with a hybrid working arrangement, combining time across our Sydney CBD and Sydney Olympic Park offices with flexibility to work from home. 
 
What Youβll Do 
Reporting to the External Design Manager, youβll contribute across the full lifecycle of energy and EV infrastructure projects. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 
β’ Provide desktop evaluations of candidate sites and support field inspections in collaboration with the Acquisition team 
β’ Prepare concept and detailed engineering designs, drawings and calculations using AutoCAD 
β’ Manage DNSP enquiries, applications and approvals for proposed installations 
β’ Review design drawings and provide technical guidance to achieve optimal outcomes 
β’ Liaise with contractors to define technical requirements for electrical distribution equipment and EV charging stations 
β’ Support proofβofβconcept activities and new energy designs 
β’ Assist with compliance of network and electrical system designs with legislation, codes of practice and standards 
β’ Support commissioning, operational and maintenance activities for energy assets 
β’ Maintain engineering documentation, datasheets and technical standards 
β’ Participate in tender processes, including RFI/RFP preparation and evaluation 
β’ Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and mentor junior engineers  
What You'll Bring 
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronic) 
β’ Knowledge of current Australian regulations, electrical installation rules, and standards 
β’ 5+ yearsβ engineering experience across EV charging, battery storage, photovoltaics or microgrids 
β’ Experience managing DNSP connection enquiries, applications and approvals 
β’ Strong AutoCAD skills, with experience producing engineering drawings and design plans 
β’ A strong safety mindset and commitment to compliant engineering outcomes 
β’ Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet challenging deadlines 
β’ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal teams, contractors and suppliers 
β’ A collaborative approach, with a passion for continuous improvement and process efficiency 
β’ Chartered Professional Engineer, RPEQ or VIC PE accreditation is highly regarded
