About the Role
We are looking for a Java Lead to join our team and lead a group of engineers in developing innovative GovTech and R&D solutions for the public sector. This role involves designing secure, scalable software that improves efficiency, transparency, and intelligence of public sector systems.
Key Responsibilities
- βLead, mentor, and support a team of engineers, building a collaborative and high-performing environment
- βDesign and guide the architecture of secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions
- βTake full ownership of projects from start to finish, including technical planning, estimation, implementation, and delivery
- βDefine and maintain coding standards, project best practices, and quality expectations
- βIdentify potential project risks early and propose mitigation strategies
- βEvaluate and introduce new technologies, tools, and approaches
- βWork closely with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and shape technical solutions
- βDrive R&D initiatives and explore new ideas to improve existing systems
- βLead by example by maintaining high engineering standards and promoting a culture of feedback and knowledge sharing
Requirements
- βProven hands-on experience designing and building complex, scalable back-end systems with Java
- βStrong expertise in relational databases (Oracle preferred)
- βSolid understanding of cloud computing and on-premises infrastructure environments
- βDemonstrated ability to establish coding standards and drive architectural decisions
- βProven leadership and people management skills
- βUnderstanding of key security and regulatory requirements in the public sector
- βProactive mindset with strong problem-solving and communication skills
- βGood understanding of software development best practices and clean code principles
- βFluency in Lithuanian and English
