At NiCE, we don’t limit our challenges. We challenge our limits. Always. We’re ambitious. We’re game changers. And we play to win. We set the highest standards and execute beyond them. And if you’re like us, we can offer you the ultimate career opportunity that will light a fire within you.
So, what’s the role all about?
As Principal Product Designer at NiCE, you will own the design quality and experience across our product portfolio. You will set the design standard for the platform, ensure consistency across all product areas, and drive the completion and governance of our internal design system.
This is not a hands off leadership role. You will remain deeply involved in the craft of design, setting the bar through your own work while reviewing and elevating the work of others. Your goal is to ensure that every part of the product feels cohesive, intentional, and built as part of one unified system.
You will act as the design authority across a distributed product organization where Product Managers prototype using Figma Make. Your role is to define the standards, guide quality, and enable teams to move quickly without compromising experience consistency.
You will work closely with product leadership, engineering, and cross functional teams to shape the user experience of a complex enterprise AI platform. This includes areas such as agent configuration, conversation design, voice pipelines, evaluation tooling, and platform observability.
You will report to the Director of Product.
What You Will Do
You will own the overall design quality and coherence of NiCE-Cognigy’s product ecosystem, from foundational design principles through to the experience delivered across individual product areas.
You will:
• Define and drive the design vision and experience standards across NiCE-Cognigy’s product portfolio.
• Lead the completion and governance of the internal design system, including components, interaction patterns, principles, and documentation.
• Ensure consistency and coherence across multiple product areas including agent builder, voice, proactive engagement, evaluation tooling, and integrations.
• Review and elevate design work across product teams, acting as the final arbiter of design quality.
• Partner closely with Product Managers and engineering leads to ensure design intent is preserved through delivery.
• Shape the experience of complex enterprise workflows such as AI agent configuration, conversation flow design, voice pipeline management, and observability tools.
• Define processes that allow design quality to scale across a distributed team where PMs contribute to prototyping.
• Establish a design review model that maintains quality while enabling teams to move quickly without requiring your involvement in every decision.
• Contribute to product strategy discussions, bringing a user experience and system thinking perspective to roadmap and prioritization conversations.
• Continuously improve the overall product experience by identifying inconsistencies, closing design gaps, and evolving the system as the platform grows.
Who You Are
• You are an experienced product designer who has led design across complex SaaS products or multi product platforms.
• You understand how to create coherence across large product surfaces and know how to balance design quality with the realities of fast moving product teams.
• You are a strong individual contributor who leads through craft, clarity, and judgment. You set the bar through your own work while helping others improve theirs through thoughtful critique and guidance.
• You are comfortable stepping into ambiguity, quickly understanding existing work, identifying gaps, and driving toward a clear and consistent outcome.
• You are confident discussing design decisions with engineers, product managers, and executives, and you can clearly articulate what good looks like and why it matters.
• You combine strong design instincts with a pragmatic approach to shipping high quality enterprise products.
Preferred Experience
• You have experience designing complex enterprise SaaS products where configurability, scalability, and technical constraints play a major role.
• You have owned or significantly contributed to a design system in a product organization, including component definition, adoption, and governance.
• You have worked in environments where design is distributed and non designers contribute to prototypes or early concepts.
• You are familiar with conversational AI platforms, agent based systems, or complex workflow tooling.
• You have collaborated with cross functional teams in fast moving product environments and can demonstrate how your design work improved both product quality and business outcomes.
• We value strong design judgment, practical experience, and the ability to drive meaningful impact regardless of the number of years on your CV.
What Makes This Role Unique
You are joining at a pivotal moment as Cognigy’s product platform evolves and integrates more deeply with NICE’s CXone ecosystem.
You will have direct influence on the future experience of a leading enterprise AI platform and work closely with product leadership on shaping how the platform evolves.
The team already has strong prototyping capability across Product Managers. Your leverage comes from system thinking, design quality, and architectural experience rather than sheer execution volume.
You will be designing at the frontier of enterprise AI including agentic systems, voice interfaces, evaluation tooling, and real time orchestration.
