About the Role

The EVS Tech Lead position at Northwestern Medicine plays a vital role in maintaining high-quality environmental services standards. This leadership position involves supervising and motivating Environmental Services personnel while ensuring all schedules are completed.

Key Responsibilities

→Assist the Manager in maintaining high-quality standards by keeping them informed on the condition of assigned areas
→Train, supervise, and motivate Environmental Services personnel to ensure all schedules are completed
→Serve as backup to the Supervisor of EVS in their absence
→Continuously check assigned areas to ensure work is being done properly and personnel are following assigned work schedules
→Report any pertinent information to the Supervisor as it occurs
→Instill a service-minded approach to all tasks performed by Environmental Services staff
→Motivate staff by communicating areas done well and areas requiring improvement
→Assist with training of Environmental Service personnel as directed by Supervisor or Manager
→Ensure staff are inspecting equipment for proper operation daily and reporting equipment in need of repair
→Maintain good public relations with all patients, facility, and staff personnel
→Leave notes in operation log for Supervisor to review, including project work completed, work not completed, or any unusual occurrences
→Demonstrate proper infection control procedures when collecting soiled linen
→Maintain an adequate amount of sanitized linen in the linen room and closets on patient units
→Communicate with superior laundry staff to adjust par levels as required
→Wash hospital-owned dust mops
→Operate equipment such as carpet shampoo extractor, rotating shampooer, auto floor scrubber, and wet/dry machine
→Follow procedures involved in using cleaning equipment
→Apply infection control practices with regards to cleaning patient rooms and the hospital
→Utilize project management skills as it relates to floor care

Requirements

✓Strong understanding of infection control practices
✓Ability to maintain good public relations with patients, facility, and staff personnel
✓Effective communication and interpersonal skills
✓Ability to work flexible hours, including 11pm start time on weekdays and 10am start time on weekends
✓Willingness to perform other duties as assigned
