About the role
Okta is looking for an exceptional Design Manager to join our growing internal agency and partner with our creative leads to bring our brand and marketing to life on our websites. Reporting into the Digital Creative Director, you will be challenged to ideate, concept and problem-solve against key marketing briefs. You will help to craft and tell the Okta story, always advocating for the brand and taking pride in beautiful, inspiring, and innovative work. You will manage 3-5 talented designers across three web properties, okta.com , auth0.com, and oktane.com.
The right person for this role will be an inspired and passionate designer and leader, a highly-motivated individual that has the experience, ability and drive to manage multiple projects and work seamlessly with cross-functional teams across the company.
What youβll do
β’ Work closely with the Digital Creative Director, designers, and copywriters on conceptual development, design and execution across key marketing briefs for digital experiences on okta.com.
β’ Develop creative ideas that meet project KPIs; test and iterate when necessary.
β’ Manager and mentor three Sr. Designers, encouraging their own personal growth and development. Uplevel the design team by providing dedicated one on one support, particularly for more junior designers.
β’ Partner with the Copy Manager to lead brainstorm sessions and project critiques. Work cross functionally with key marketing leads, digital partners, and the Studio to present creative concepts and solutions against briefs.
β’ Must be able to sell ideas confidently, a strong storyteller and presenter to get buy-in from cross functional partners and executives.
β’ Ensure the consistency of the brand and highest quality of design across all projects.
β’ Keen understanding and passion to learn about and share insights on digital design and industry trends.
β’ Create, concept, inspire others, and roll up their sleeves while bringing creative ideas to life; can deliver and receive direct and clear feedback.
β’ Ability to think big while operating at the lowest level of detail.
β’ Must be a self starter while being comfortable guiding teams, freelancers, agencies, and production partners.
β’ Must be able to operate at a high level, providing art direction, to executing and delivering design deliverables.
What experience you have
β’ BA or BFA in Art/Design.
β’ Extraordinary design skills.
β’ A World-class portfolio of work.
β’ Outstanding presentation skills and proven ability to produce and pitch world-class strategic presentations to all levels of an organization.
β’ 8+ years experience in art direction and design in a creative agency or client-side group; B2B / tech experience is a plus.
β’ 3+ years experience leading and managing a team in a creative agency or internal creative group; global experience is a plus.
β’ 5+ years experience in marketing work with a rich portfolio including digital, print, interactive, website/mobile design and video.
β’ Hands-on expertise in developing creative solutions and campaigns across all mediums: advertising, film, websites, mobile and graphic design, Corporate ID, interactive, social campaigns, content marketing and events.
β’ Expert knowledge of creative process and digital creative software tools (Figma, Adobe CC, Framer.
β’ Experience implementing AI tools with the creative process and prompting for creative output.

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington is between:$180,000β$198,000 USDBelow is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience.
