About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and talented Software Engineer AI Intern to join our team at Okta. In this role, you will work closely with our AI and engineering teams to design, develop, and implement AI-driven solutions. You will gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge AI technologies and contribute to real-world projects.
Key Responsibilities
- βAssist in designing and building backend services for AI agent orchestration, RAG pipelines, and lifecycle management.
- βLearn about and contribute to our standards for observability and operational excellence in a production environment.
- βParticipate in test-driven development, design sessions, and code reviews for mission-critical AI infrastructure.
- βHelp build and test scalable, secure APIs (REST/GraphQL) that support our Agentic Experiences.
- βCollaborate across Engineering, Product Management, and Security teams to solve technical and non-technical challenges.
Requirements
- βCurrently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related fields and graduating December 2026 or Spring 2027.
- βSolid programming skills in Python, ready to build the core logic for our AI services.
- βA foundational knowledge of how modern software communicates, including concepts like microservices and REST APIs.
- βAn understanding of how backend systems connect to user experiences, with some familiarity in JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React.
- βA drive to translate computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms) into solutions for complex, real-world AI challenges.
