Job Role Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Software Engineer II to join our Audio Visual (AV) & Unified Communications (UC) team. In this role, you will act as the software engineering backbone for our AV/UC infrastructure, helping us scale our global communication tools through intelligent automation.
You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automations for our core SaaS platforms, developing internal microservices, and implementing infrastructure-as-code to eliminate manual overhead. The ideal candidate is an independent problem-solver who enjoys working at the intersection of software development and enterprise communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
β’ SaaS Platform Automation: Design and deploy automated workflows for our primary AV/UC SaaS platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Slack) using their native APIs and webhooks to manage user lifecycles, provisioning, and reporting.
β’ Internal Services Development: Build, maintain, and scale internally built services, middlewares, and self-service tools that empower end-users and streamline AV/UC operations.
β’ Infrastructure Automation: Write and maintain scripts and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to automate the deployment, configuration, and monitoring of AV hardware and UC software environments.
β’ System Integration: Connect disparate enterprise systems (e.g., HRIS, IT ticketing, and UC platforms) to ensure seamless data flow and process automation.
β’ Monitoring & Alerting: Develop automated health checks, proactive monitoring, and alerting mechanisms for critical AV/UC infrastructure to minimize downtime.
β’ Collaboration & Code Quality: Participate in code reviews, maintain clear technical documentation, and write unit/integration tests to ensure highly reliable code deployments.
Required Skills and Experience Level:
β’ Experience: 2β4 years of professional experience in software development, backend engineering, or a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) / DevOps role.
β’ Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Go, JavaScript/Node.js, or C#.
β’ API Expertise: Proven experience interacting with and designing RESTful APIs, Webhooks, and handling JSON/XML data payloads.
β’ Infrastructure & Cloud: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
β’ Automation Tools: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, or Puppet).
β’ Version Control & CI/CD: Solid understanding of Git workflows and building CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
Preferred Skills:
β’ Direct experience working with APIs from major Unified Communications platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet, Cisco, etc.).
β’ Familiarity with AV hardware ecosystems and their management interfaces.
β’ Experience building chatbots or chatops integrations (e.g., Slackbot, Teams bot).
β’ Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors, including inter-organizational impact
β’ Interact with senior internal and external personnel on event production systems matters, standards, and related projects
β’ Proficiency with Google Suite tools.
β’ Security Compliance Certification ISC2
β’ Familiarity with QSC, Dante, Crestron, Shure, and AV over IP
β’ Collaborative thought leader with the ability to take a proactive approach to dynamic technical aspects of the role
β’ Okta Essentials Certification is a plus
β’ Jamf Associate Certification is a plus
