Role: GenAI Project Manager
Location: Manila, Philippines
About the role:
The Project Manager is the engine behind delivery at Beauty AI Studio (BAIS) — carrying multi-account and programme-level management responsibility across Gen AI-led creative projects for Unilever Beauty & Wellbeing. A core accountability of this role is the coordination of resources between in-market teams and the Maker Hub — ensuring the right people, skills, and capacity are aligned to every project at every stage, and that nothing is lost in the handoff between local market needs and centralised production.
This role carries both strategic and operational responsibility. You'll lead account performance planning, coordinate and implement client programmes and activities, and develop and coordinate advertising and digital activities for one or more clients. You'll maintain mid-level to senior-level client contact — and may act as the day-to-day lead representing the function on smaller client accounts, under the supervision of a more senior director. You'll develop comprehensive project plans that incorporate Gen AI workflows, identify and mitigate risks specific to AI-assisted production, and maintain rigorous quality control across all deliverables.
What you will be doing:
Project Planning & Delivery
• Own end-to-end project delivery for Gen AI-led creative projects across Unilever Beauty & Wellbeing — managing scope, timelines, resource allocation, and quality control from initiation through to final delivery.
• Carry multi-account and programme-level management responsibility — overseeing delivery performance across one or more client accounts simultaneously.
• Take accountability for coordinating resources between in-market teams and the Maker Hub — ensuring alignment, clarity of responsibility, and seamless handoffs across all active workstreams.
• Develop comprehensive project plans that integrate Gen AI workflows alongside traditional production streams — sequencing workloads, identifying dependencies, and building in appropriate review and approval stages.
• Lead account performance planning — coordinating and implementing client programmes and activities with clarity and precision.
• Develop and coordinate advertising and digital activities for one or more clients — ensuring outputs are aligned to brief, brand standards, and client requirements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks specific to Gen AI production — including output variability, iteration cycles, and tool limitations — and escalate issues proactively where required.
• Maintain rigorous quality control across all deliverables — reviewing outputs at key stages and ensuring every asset meets Unilever brand and quality standards before delivery.
• Manage project documentation — briefs, status reports, timelines, feedback loops, and approval records — keeping all stakeholders accurately informed throughout.
Gen AI Production Management
• Oversee the integration of Gen AI tools and workflows into project delivery — coordinating between AI-assisted and traditionally produced content streams without compromising output quality or timeline integrity.
• Track and report on AI production metrics — monitoring efficiency, iteration cycles, and output quality to inform workflow improvements and resource planning.
• Partner with creative and strategy teams to ensure Gen AI workflows are fit for purpose — flagging where human craft or oversight is required and adjusting production plans accordingly.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve AI-assisted production processes — testing new approaches, documenting learnings, and sharing best practice across the studio.
Client & Stakeholder Management
• Maintain mid-level to senior-level client contact across active accounts — determining client requirements including budgets, product information, and agency service levels required.
• Serve as a confident and credible point of contact for Unilever stakeholders — communicating project status, managing expectations, and escalating or resolving issues with clarity.
• Act as the day-to-day lead representing the function on smaller client accounts where required, under the supervision of a more senior director.
• Support the Account Director or Senior Account Director in client communications — preparing status updates, project reports, and presentation materials as required.
• Build effective working relationships with in-market Unilever teams and Maker Hub resources — ensuring local market requirements are understood and reflected accurately in all creative outputs.
Financial Management
• Manage project-level budgets — including cost estimation, resource tracking, purchase orders, and reconciliation — across all active Gen AI project workstreams.
• Monitor project profitability, flag financial risks early, and work with account and studio leadership to address scope or budget variances.
• Support accurate and timely billing in line with studio processes.
What you need to be great in this role:
Project Management and Delivery
• Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-workstream creative projects on time, on budget, and to a high quality standard within a studio, agency, or in-house environment.
• Experience carrying multi-account or programme-level management responsibility — coordinating delivery across multiple concurrent client accounts.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate resources between in-market teams and centralised production or hub-based resources — managing handoffs, priorities, and capacity with clarity and rigour.
• Experience in account performance planning, and coordinating and implementing client programmes and activities across advertising and digital disciplines.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams with clarity, rigour, and strong organisational discipline.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects simultaneously without losing attention to detail or delivery momentum.
• Strong risk management skills — proactively identifying issues, developing mitigation strategies, and communicating risks clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Experience managing project-level budgets, including cost estimation, purchase order management, and financial reconciliation.
Gen AI and Production Knowledge
• Working knowledge of Gen AI tools and their application within creative production — including an understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, and quality control requirements.
• Experience managing or coordinating AI-assisted production workflows alongside traditional creative production streams.
• Familiarity with digital asset management, creative review systems, and approval workflows in a content production context.
• Genuine curiosity about emerging Gen AI tools and production methodologies — with the initiative to test, learn, and bring new capabilities into the team's practice.
Client and Stakeholder Management
• Confidence maintaining mid-level to senior-level client contact — determining requirements, managing expectations, and representing the studio professionally with Unilever stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex project information into clear, accessible updates for diverse audiences.
• Experience determining client requirements including budgets, product information, and agency service levels across advertising and digital activities.
• Experience working with or alongside brand teams in beauty and FMCG, or adjacent sectors is an advantage.
Gen AI & Agentic Thinking
• Proficiency with Gen AI tools relevant to project management and production workflows — using AI to improve planning, coordination, brief quality, and delivery efficiency.
• Experience designing or contributing to AI-assisted workflows within a creative or production context, with a clear understanding of where human oversight is essential.
• Agentic approach to complex, multi-workstream delivery challenges: breaking problems into manageable components, identifying the most efficient path forward, and executing with consistency and precision.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI outputs and apply sound judgement before incorporating them into client deliverables or production pipelines.
• Willingness to upskill others on Gen AI tools and prompting practices relevant to project coordination and production management.
