Role: Senior GenAI Integrated / Multimedia Designer | Beauty AI Studio
Location: Mumbai, India
Work Timings: 6:30am to 4:30pm
About the role:
This is an opportunity to join the Beauty AI Studio Creative Hub, OLIVER's dedicated in-house studio embedded within the Unilever Beauty & Wellbeing programme, as a Senior GenAI Integrated Designer — delivering premium motion content, AI-powered creative production, and multi-market campaign assets for some of the world's most iconic beauty brands, including Dove, TRESemmé, Pond's, and Simple.
Beauty is where craft, technology, and emotion converge. Based on-site in Mumbai and creating for markets XXX, you'll lead the origination, creative concepting, and production of social-first motion content, hero campaign films, and retail/e-commerce assets — while directing AI agents that handle art direction, retouching, and static design at scale. Your eye for beauty aesthetic, mastery of GenAI design and motion workflows, and ability to elevate AI-assisted creative output will set the quality bar for the Beauty AI Studio Creative Hub and raise the capability of the team around you.
We support flexible working and are open to different arrangements. We offer reasonable adjustments throughout the process.
As Senior GenAI Integrated Designer within the Beauty AI Studio Creative Hub, you sit at the intersection of craft, technology, and beauty storytelling. Drawing on a range of skillsets, you are responsible for origination, creative concepting, and producing all creative design work associated with a campaign — owning motion output for Unilever Beauty & Wellbeing and holding quality across social-first content, premium campaign films, and retail assets for Dove, TRESemmé, Pond's, Simple, and beyond, ensuring every deliverable reflects the visual language of the beauty category at its best.
Beyond your own output, you direct AI agent workflows for art direction, retouching, and static design — reviewing, refining, and elevating what the tools produce against premium beauty standards. You supervise art operations and creative development at account level, mentor junior creatives, establish workflow benchmarks, and act as a creative authority within the studio: the person the team looks to when the bar needs raising and the work needs defending.
What you will be doing:
The role is responsible for origination, creative concepting, and producing all creative design work associated with a campaign. They will own the end-to-end creative delivery of social-first content, in moving image, animation, special motion effects, long and short form videos, hero campaign films, retail/e-commerce assets, etc. A sharp beauty aesthetic sensibility and expert-level command of Gen AI motion tools — text-to-video, image-to-video, AI-assisted compositing — are essential, alongside strong proficiency in After Effects, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
Beyond individual output, this role carries clear leadership responsibility: supervising art operations and creative development at account level, mentoring junior and mid-level creatives, setting Gen AI workflow benchmarks, scoping design phases, and presenting creative decisions to brand teams and executive-level client stakeholders. The successful candidate brings a proven ability to orchestrate AI agents with rigorous quality control, design scalable AI-assisted workflows, and upskill others on prompting practices — all while keeping multi-market delivery on track without compromising on craft.
• Responsible for the visual creation of collateral material across the Beauty AI Studio Creative Hub's output for Unilever Beauty & Wellbeing.
• Lead origination, creative concepting, and end-to-end production of social-first motion content, animation, special motion effects, long and short-form video, hero campaign films, and retail/e-commerce assets for Dove, TRESemmé, Pond's, Simple, and other B&W brands across.
• Direct and orchestrate AI agents for art direction, retouching, and static design — establishing clear quality criteria, reviewing outputs rigorously, and knowing when human craft must take over.
• Apply a trained eye for beauty aesthetic to all motion and AI-assisted creative: skin texture, light quality, colour grading, product rendering, and brand tone held to the standard the category demands.
• Develop and own GenAI design and motion workflows for the Beauty AI Studio Creative Hub — including prompting frameworks, style references, and quality benchmarks for AI-assisted content production.
• Provide creative direction and hands-on mentorship to junior and mid-level designers and motion creators within the studio.
• Supervise art operations and creative development at account level — maintaining consistent quality standards and ensuring output integrity across all workstreams.
• Collaborate with creative strategists, producers, and client teams to translate brand briefs into compelling motion narratives — from concept through to final delivery.
• Adapt and localise campaign creative ensuring cultural relevance, brand consistency, and platform optimisation.
• Act as motion craft authority within the Beauty AI Studio Creative Hub — reviewing work before client delivery and maintaining consistent output quality across the team.
• Partner with production and project management to scope design phases accurately, manage feedback cycles, asset delivery volumes, and multi-market timelines without compromising quality.
• Present creative decisions and campaign work to brand teams and executive-level client stakeholders with confidence and clarity.
• Stay ahead of emerging Gen AI tools, techniques, and beauty motion trends — sharing knowledge, running informal sessions, and elevating the team's collective capability.
• Manage project-level production budgets, including cost estimation, purchase orders, supplier sourcing, and reconciliation.
What you need to be great in this role:
Motion Craft and Technical Skills:
• Advanced motion design skills across 2D and 3D, with a portfolio that demonstrates premium beauty or personal care work — including animation, special effects, and long and short-form video — showing a clear understanding of what beauty looks like in motion.
• Expert-level proficiency in Gen AI motion tools, including text-to-video, image-to-video, AI-assisted compositing, and AI upscaling workflows.
• Strong proficiency in industry-standard motion and post-production applications (After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated ability to direct AI agents for art direction, retouching, and static design — with clear quality criteria, structured review processes, and strong human creative oversight.
• Exceptional sensitivity to beauty aesthetics: colour grading, skin and texture rendering, light, product photography, and the visual language of premium beauty across digital and social formats.
Creative Direction and Leadership:
• Experience providing creative direction and supervising art operations across junior creatives and cross-functional production teams.
• Ability to originate concepts and translate a brand brief into design language with precision — and to brief and steer AI agents with the same clarity.
• Experience setting quality benchmarks and scalable workflows within a fast-paced content production environment.
• Confidence presenting and defending creative decisions to executive-level client and brand stakeholders.
Experience and Market Knowledge:
• Professional experience delivering social-first motion content, animation, special effects, long and short-form video, campaign films, and retail/e-commerce assets at volume.
• Genuine familiarity with the aesthetic standards of beauty and personal care — understanding what premium looks like across skincare, haircare, and wellness categories.
• Experience working across multi-market campaigns is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of platform-specific requirements across Meta, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and retail media environments.
Gen AI & Agentic Thinking:
• Advanced use of GenAI design and motion tools to enhance creative output, production efficiency, and content scale — with a track record of results.
• Experience designing and implementing AI-assisted workflows for self and team within a content production or in-house studio context.
• Demonstrated ability to orchestrate AI agents for creative tasks — art direction, retouching, static design — with rigorous quality control and a clear sense of where human direction is irreplaceable.
• Agentic thinking for complex multi-step production challenges: mapping workflows, selecting the right tools, and delivering with precision and consistency.
• Strong critical evaluation of AI outputs — understanding where AI genuinely enhances craft and where it introduces errors, inconsistency, or brand risk.
• Experience training or upskilling others on Gen AI tools and prompting practices within a creative discipline.
Formal qualifications are welcome. Equivalent experience counts. Experience can be gained through work, study, volunteering, or self-directed learning.
If you're excited about this role but don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply.
