π About The Job
As a Senior Software Engineer at Omaze, you are an experienced engineer who takes genuine ownership of your code, your decisions, and the outcomes they produce. Whilst being T-shaped with a frontend focus you're also comfortable across the stack and you don't wait to be told where to add value. You embrace AI-assisted and agentic coding as part of how modern engineering gets done and apply it with the same judgement and rigour you bring to everything else. You believe everyone has something to contribute, value diversity and inclusion, and enjoy mentoring others to help them grow.
π§ What Youβll Be Doing
- Own the design, implementation, and testing of features and services across the full stack, producing code that's clean, well-considered, and built to last.
- Work closely with product, UX, and engineering peers from the earliest stages of a feature, not just at the point of implementation, shaping decisions before they're hard to change.
- Architect and build reusable, well tested components and services that make the platform stronger and the next feature easier to ship.
- Hold a high bar in code review, giving feedback that's direct, constructive, and focused on design and long term maintainability, not just correctness.
- Take responsibility for the security, integrity, and resilience of what you build; raise concerns early and follow through on them.
- Uphold and actively contribute to engineering standards and best practices, not because you're told to, but because you understand why they matter.
- Use AI-assisted and agentic coding tools as a natural part of your workflow, knowing when they add leverage, when to interrogate their output, and how to review AI-generated code with the same rigour you'd apply to anything else.
