The Job
As a Staff Software Engineer, you are a technical visionary and a strategic leader within our Engineering organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Software Engineering, you will be the primary technical architect and strategist for the Asset Management Lifecycle domain. You will look beyond a single team to evolve how we track, manage, and optimize solar assets. You will introduce transformative technologies and coordinate technical excellence across multiple workstreams to ensure our platform scales for the future.
At the heart of Omnidian is a residential or commercial asset with a solar installation. You'll work on a distributed team responsible for the full lifecycle of that asset from initial onboarding through daily monitoring and management.

At Omnidian we believe in trust and autonomy. Here is an outline of some of the things you’ll be doing:

• Evolve Asset Management: Technical thought leader of the Asset Management Lifecycle domain, and evolving its architecture to support complex global requirements with high execution speed.
• Evangelize Technology: Research and introduce new technologies and patterns that elevate the performance and scalability of our asset tracking systems.
• Strategic Proofs of Concept: Create PoCs for next-generation IoT and asset management features, pioneering the path for other engineers to follow.
Organizational Coordination (30%)
• Cross-Team Leadership: Coordinate team members and stakeholders across the organization to ensure the Asset Management domain integrates seamlessly with other business pillars.
• Process Leadership: Adjust and guide team processes by listening to feedback and implementing changes that improve operational efficiency and automation.
• Technical Moderation: Lead and moderate technical discussions, providing effective feedback that balances immediate business needs with long-term system health.
High-Impact Engineering (30%)
• Systems Excellence: Oversee the reliability, security, and extensibility of systems processing thousands of solar sites globally.
• Business Strategy Alignment: Work closely with business leaders to translate the "Solar Asset Lifecycle" into innovative software solutions that drive company success.
• Strategic Mentorship: Accelerate the growth of Senior and mid-level engineers in the Costa Rica hub, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical mastery.
Who You Are
• Long-Term Partner: You seek a career home and are excited to grow with our Costa Rica talent hub over the next few years
• Strategic Thinker: You look at the "big picture" and can anticipate technical debt or scaling bottlenecks 12–24 months out.
• Collaborative Influencer: You excel at leading by example rather than authority, bringing people together to solve cross-functional problems.
• Growth-Oriented Leader: You have a growth mindset and thrive in a dynamic, Series C startup environment where processes are constantly reinvented.
• Champion of Integrity: You demonstrate respect and dignity for all people and are committed to technical excellence and business impact.
Experience You’ll Need
• 8+ years of professional experience in Software Development.
• Domain Expertise: Previous experience managing complex lifecycles, asset tracking, or large-scale IoT data systems.
• Tech Stack Mastery: Deep proficiency in Java/Kotlin, TypeScript, React, and SQL.
• Cloud-Native Architecture: Extensive experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Service-Oriented Architecture.
• Organizational Impact: Proven history of leading technical initiatives that impacted multiple teams or significant portions of an organization.
• Language: strong fluency in English in a professional setting
