ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head of Technology Operations & Security is responsible for the reliability, security, and compliance of One Passβs internal technology environment. This role provides strategic leadership and hands-on operational oversight across IT infrastructure, cloud operations, service delivery, cybersecurity operations, and compliance execution.
This leader ensures technology operations are scalable, secure, audit-ready, and aligned with business priorities. Serving as the primary owner for IT operations, operational security, incident response coordination, and third-party security engagements, this role partners closely with Engineering, Product, HR, and external stakeholders. This is an operational leadership role focused on execution, coordination, and accountability rather than deep product security engineering.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technology Operations & Service Delivery
β’ Provide strategic and operational leadership for IT operations, including infrastructure, cloud services, DevOps support, network management, system administration, and end-user support
β’ Ensure reliable, high-availability delivery of internal technology services aligned to business needs and SLAs
β’ Own IT service management practices, including incident, change, problem, and asset management (ITIL-aligned)
β’ Lead business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and readiness
β’ Establish and manage the IT operations budget, driving cost optimization and operational efficiency
β’ Track and report on KPIs, SLAs, and operational risk metrics to executive leadership
β’ Drive automation and modernization initiatives to improve reliability and reduce manual effort
Security Operations & Incident Management
β’ Own day-to-day operational security management for company systems outside of product engineering
β’ Triage, track, and manage incoming security issues across platforms and stakeholders
β’ Serve as the operational lead for security incidents, including intake, assessment, escalation, documentation, and communication
β’ Partner with Engineering and IT to prioritize remediation efforts and manage risk-based tradeoffs
β’ Configure and maintain security monitoring, scanning, and access management tools
β’ Oversee SaaS vendor access, SSO integrations, and internal system permissions
β’ Partner with HR and IT on onboarding and offboarding access controls
Compliance, Audit, & External Engagement
β’ Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOX, HITRUST, PCI, NYDFS)
β’ Own audit readiness and execution, including client audits, security questionnaires, RFP responses, and enterprise security reviews
β’ Coordinate internal access reviews, permissions validation, and audit evidence collection
β’ Partner with external enterprise security stakeholders and auditors
β’ Support and document compliance programs across IT, security, and operations
β’ Facilitate new hire and ongoing security awareness training
Leadership & Collaboration
β’ Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing IT and operations teams
β’ Foster a culture of accountability, documentation, and continuous improvement
β’ Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, translating technical risk into business impact
β’ Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
ABOUT YOU
You are a pragmatic and execution-focused technology leader with deep experience in IT operations and operational security within regulated environments. You thrive in environments that require strong coordination, clear ownership, and accountability across multiple domains. You bring a strong understanding of risk, compliance, and service reliability, along with the ability to translate technical challenges into business impact. You are highly organized, collaborative, and comfortable leading through influence across cross-functional teams.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
β’ 10+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, security, or related disciplines
β’ 5+ years in a senior leadership or management role
β’ Experience operating in highly regulated or public company environments (SOX controls required)
β’ Proven experience owning or supporting security audits and compliance initiatives
β’ Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure), ITSM tools, and modern infrastructure practices
β’ Experience creating, implementing, and testing disaster recovery and incident response plans
β’ Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
β’ Executive presence with the ability to balance risk management with business velocity
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
β’ Experience in healthcare, fintech, or SaaS environments
β’ Familiarity with HITRUST-aligned controls and PCI requirements
β’ Experience working with enterprise security customers or partners
β’ Experience leading hybrid or remote IT teams
Work Location & Eligibility
One Pass Solutions, Inc. offers a flexible work environment. We operate as a hybrid company in the MinnesotaβSt. Paul Twin Cities area, where team members are expected to work in-office three days per week. We also support remote work across a number of U.S. states.
