About the Role
We are looking for an infrastructure-focused engineer to join OpenAI's Connectors Platform team. This role involves building and operating systems that make Connectors dependable at global scale, focusing on control plane design, reliability foundations, and operational tooling.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and operate infrastructure for connector sync, indexing, and retrieval at scale
- →Build control plane primitives for connectors including rollout controls and policy enforcement
- →Own reliability and operational excellence through SLOs, monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning
- →Create guardrails for safe multi-tenant execution with isolation boundaries and rate limits
- →Partner with security and compliance teams to meet enterprise requirements
- →Improve developer velocity through internal tooling and observability dashboards
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of professional engineering experience in infra/SRE/platform roles
- ✓Strong distributed systems fundamentals and production instincts
- ✓Experience building services with uptime and scale requirements
- ✓Proficiency in backend languages like Python or Rust
- ✓Deep familiarity with observability and reliability engineering practices
- ✓Comfort navigating ambiguous problem spaces and implementing solutions
