About the Role
We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join Orion Group, a holding company focused on building high-quality investing businesses. This role will build Orion’s first real analytics layer and take ownership of how leadership consumes data across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build BI dashboards for Orion leadership
- →Translate existing management reporting into scalable analytics models
- →Source and integrate data from platform warehouses, APIs, and managed systems
- →Design data models that unify financial, operational, and workforce data
- →Iterate quickly based on feedback and improve reporting continuously
- →Document datasets and metric definitions that are clear and reusable
- →Identify data quality issues and architectural friction
Requirements
- ✓5–8 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or BI engineering
- ✓Deep hands-on experience building production-grade dashboards and data models
- ✓Strong SQL skills and comfort sourcing data from APIs and external systems
- ✓Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake)
- ✓Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
- ✓Experience with financial and operational data from ERP systems
- ✓A disciplined approach to producing clear documentation
- ✓Judgment to use lightweight automation tools when appropriate
- ✓You are someone who:
- ✓Prefers execution over theory and shipping over over-design
- ✓Is comfortable working in ambiguity and uneven data environments
- ✓Has a strong bias toward pragmatic MVPs and rapid iteration
- ✓Cares deeply about accuracy, clarity, and trust in data
- ✓Can operate independently without heavy processing or a large team
- ✓Brings sound business judgment to prioritize what matters most
