About the Role
We are looking for a Financial Statement Data Developer to join Orion Innovation. This role involves transforming accounting trial balance data into accurate financial statements using modern data tools and techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- →Ingest and transform trial balance data from various sources including CSV, Excel, ERP extracts, and databases.
- →Apply chart of accounts mappings, including entity-specific variations.
- →Utilize purpose-built applications to aggregate outputs into Income Statement and Balance Sheet formats.
- →Build repeatable Alteryx workflows, SQL transformations, and Python scripts for automation.
- →Perform data reconciliation, tie-outs, variance checks, and data quality controls across entities and periods.
Requirements
- ✓Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and Alteryx.
- ✓Hands-on experience in accounting database development, data engineering, and analytics.
- ✓Accounting fundamentals including trial balance, chart of accounts, journal entries, Income Statement, and Balance Sheet.
- ✓Experience converting ledger-level data into financial statements and performing reconciliations.
- ✓Strong communication skills and client-facing experience; ability to work onsite when required.
- ✓Experience with cloud environments (Azure).
Qualifications & Experience
- ✓Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- ✓Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience with database development and scripting.
