Senior Database Administrator:
QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator / Cloud Database Engineer with strong expertise in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Azure Cloud SQL environments.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing high-availability database infrastructures, disaster recovery strategies, cloud migrations, and performance optimization across enterprise environments.
This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support mission-critical production systems in both on-premises and cloud platforms.
Working hours will be North America working hrs (+7 hrs ahead Istanbul time)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
β’ Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Azure SQL environments.
β’ Design and manage high-availability architectures using Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Exadata, and SQL Server Always On.
β’ Implement and maintain disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity solutions using RMAN and cloud-native technologies.
β’ Monitor and optimize database performance through query tuning, system analysis, and infrastructure improvements.
β’ Manage Azure SQL Database, Managed Instances, and Cosmos DB environments, including security, backup, and recovery operations.
β’ Lead database migration and modernization projects using Oracle Data Pump, replication technologies, and cloud migration tools.
β’ Administer Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control (OEM/EMCC) and SCOM monitoring platforms.
β’ Implement database security measures including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), access management, and compliance controls.
β’ Support developers and application teams with database integration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
β’ Develop automation scripts and operational procedures to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
β’ Conduct regular disaster recovery testing and validate failover procedures.
β’ Maintain technical documentation, operational standards, and knowledge base materials.
β’ Provide 24x7 operational support for critical production environments when required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
β’ 5+ years of hands-on database administration experience in enterprise environments.
β’ Fluent in English
β’ Strong expertise in:
β’ Oracle Administration
β’ Microsoft SQL Server
β’ PostgreSQL and MySQL
β’ Experience with:
β’ Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and Exadata
β’ SQL Server Always On Clustering
β’ RMAN backup and recovery
β’ Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control (OEM/EMCC)
β’ Database migrations and cloud modernization projects
β’ Strong understanding of:
β’ High availability and disaster recovery architectures
β’ Performance tuning and query optimization
β’ Database security, encryption, and access management
β’ IT infrastructure troubleshooting and systems analysis
β’ Experience supporting mission-critical production environments.
β’ Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
