About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Firmware Engineer to join Oura, a company dedicated to empowering people to own their inner potential through innovative wearable technology. This role involves developing cutting-edge firmware for next-generation wearable devices, with a strong focus on Bluetooth LE connectivity and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

→Design and develop firmware for next-generation wearable devices, focusing on Bluetooth LE connectivity, performance, power efficiency, and scalability.
→Integrate, configure, and maintain Bluetooth LE stacks on embedded platforms, ensuring robust interoperability across mobile platforms.
→Diagnose and resolve complex firmware and connectivity issues, including BLE protocol behavior and RF-related problems.
→Collaborate with hardware engineers, mobile teams, product managers, and external vendors to deliver high-quality, integrated solutions.
→Optimize firmware architectures for power consumption and reliability in battery-constrained wearable devices.
→Contribute to strategic decisions related to firmware architecture and technology stack.

Requirements

✓5+ years of hands-on firmware development experience with a solid foundation in firmware engineering principles and Bluetooth LE protocol fundamentals.
✓Proficiency in writing high-quality, maintainable, and efficient C/C++ code.
✓Experience working with BLE stack and silicon vendors, including integrating and configuring Bluetooth LE stacks on embedded devices.
✓Strong skills in debugging connectivity and protocol-level issues using tools such as Bluetooth sniffers, logging, traces, and hardware debuggers.
✓Demonstrated experience optimizing firmware for ultra-low-power operation in battery-powered devices.
✓Comfortable working in an agile development environment with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
✓Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
