About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Tooling Quality Engineer to join our Hardware NPI Quality team at Oura. This role focuses on establishing and enforcing quality standards for our complex molding and tooling processes, acting as the ultimate gatekeeper for product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- βDefine and enforce quality standards for molding components and FATP processes
- βDevelop and implement inspection and test strategies, including Automated Optical Inspection (AOI)
- βDrive upstream supplier quality management and oversee First Article Inspections (FAI)
- βValidate FATP molding processes and ensure equipment qualifications
- βMonitor process capability using statistical process control (SPC) and data analytics
- βEstablish quality frameworks including Control Plans, pFMEA, and SOPs
- βPartner with tooling designers and process engineers for quality improvement
Requirements
- β7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, SQE, or Manufacturing Quality
- βBackground in high-volume consumer electronics manufacturing, preferably with wearables
- βHands-on experience with manual inspection, AOI systems, and in-line testing
- βMastery of statistical analysis and quality engineering tools (JMP, Six Sigma, CPK/CP, Gauge R&R)
- βAbility to audit suppliers and establish cosmetic limits for assembly lines
- βAssertive and collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
- βWillingness to travel globally up to 40%
