We are seeking a highly skilled Software Test Engineer to join our Women's Health testing team. In this role, you will focus on planning, implementing, and executing tests for end-to-end features, data, and algorithms that power our reproductive health capabilities (e.g., Cycle Insights, Pregnancy Insights).
You will play a key role in ensuring product quality by driving test automation efforts, reporting issues, and collaborating closely with developers and data scientists to debug and resolve complex issues. You will also own and refine testing processes for your feature areas, contributing to continuous improvements in our testing capabilities, and work closely with cross-functional teams across the US and Finland to deliver high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy and Planning
β’ Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans for end-to-end Women's Health features, covering mobile applications, backend services, and algorithmic solutions.
β’ Define testing objectives, scope, and success criteria for each test phase, ensuring coverage for complex user scenarios (e.g., cycle phases, pregnancy modes, tagging flows).
β’ Collaborate with Product and Science teams to understand feature requirements and regulatory compliance needs.
Test Execution and Reporting
β’ Execute manual and automated tests for Women's Health features; analyze test results and report defects, issues, and bugs in a clear, concise manner.
β’ Validate data flow and algorithm accuracy, ensuring inputs from the ring translate correctly to user-facing insights.
β’ Visualize data and metrics to communicate test coverage and quality status to stakeholders.
Automation and Continuous Integration
β’ Implement, maintain, and enhance test automation frameworks using Pytest and Appium (required).
β’ Integrate automated testing in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) to support continuous testing and fast feedback.
β’ Ensure regression suites are stable, reliable, and provide high-value coverage for core health features.
Collaboration and Debugging
β’ Work closely with developers, product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to debug issues and ensure timely resolutions.
β’ Advocate for best practices in QA and continuously improve testing methods, processes, and tools within the squad.
Quality Assurance Ownership
β’ Take ownership of product quality for assigned Women's Health features, ensuring high reliability and performance of sensitive health data features.
β’ Champion quality standards, ensuring the squad adheres to best practices and processes.
Advanced Testing & Technology Exploration
β’ Explore and experiment with AI-assisted testing approaches (e.g., test generation, data analysis).
β’ Evaluate and introduce new tools and methodologies for efficient, scalable, and robust testing.
Experience & Skills
β’ 3+ years of hands-on software testing experience.
β’ QA and Test Automation Experience: Proven track record of designing, building, and executing automated tests for mobile applications (iOS/Android).
β’ Domain Experience: Experience testing health, wellness, or medical-related software is a strong plus. Familiarity with testing algorithms or data-driven features is highly valued.
β’ End-to-End Testing Experience: Experience testing complex, multi-component systems (e.g., embedded software combined with mobile applications & cloud-based services).
β’ Automation Frameworks & Tools: Strong hands-on experience with Pytest and Appium (required).
β’ Programming/Scripting Skills: Proficiency in Python is required.
β’ CI/CD Expertise: Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI, and best practices for continuous testing.
β’ Analytical and Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to identify root causes of complex issues quickly and drive solutions.
β’ Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with developers, product teams, and science teams to ensure shared understanding of requirements and quality goals.
β’ AI Tools: Experience with LLMs and AI-driven dev/test tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) is a plus.

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
