About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Backend to join Parafin in Portland. This role involves building and establishing a new engineering team while developing and maintaining financial infrastructure for small businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, build, and maintain scalable systems for merchant-facing products
- →Drive technical projects from ideation to deployment
- →Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Data Science, Legal, and Accounting
- →Improve system performance, security, and reliability
- →Mentor and guide other engineers
- →Recruit additional engineers locally in Portland
Requirements
- ✓6+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in fintech
- ✓Strong proficiency in backend development with Python, Go, or similar languages
- ✓Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and scalable system design
- ✓Deep understanding of distributed systems, databases, and API development
- ✓Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
