About the Role
We are looking for an Application Security Manager to lead and mature our Application Security program across a complex environment consisting of both a Ruby-based monolith and distributed Go microservices. This leader will be responsible for building, scaling, and operationalizing secure development practices that integrate seamlessly into our CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery model.
Key Responsibilities
- βLead the Application Security team, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management
- βDefine and execute the Application Security roadmap aligned with business priorities and regulatory obligations (e.g., PCI, SOC 2)
- βPartner closely with Engineering, Product, QA, Infrastructure, and DevOps leadership to embed security early in the SDLC
- βOversee security design reviews and code security reviews across Go-based microservices and Ruby-based monolith applications
- βProvide technical guidance on secure architecture decisions in a cloud-first (AWS) environment
- βOwn and continuously improve the organizationβs threat modeling framework
- βEnsure SAST and SCA tooling is integrated into CI/CD and appropriately tuned
- βDrive meaningful reporting dashboards for Development and Engineering leadership
- βEstablish and operationalize a risk-based vulnerability prioritization framework
- βAct as a trusted advisor to Engineering leadership and influence architectural decisions
Requirements
- βStrong technical depth in application security principles and practices
- βExperience with secure development practices in Ruby and Go environments
- βKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration of security tools
- βUnderstanding of regulatory requirements such as PCI and SOC 2
- βExperience with threat modeling and secure architecture decisions
- βFamiliarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS
- βAbility to lead and mentor a team of security professionals
