ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a passionate Backend Software Engineer who is enthusiastic about building scalable and performant backend services. You will be on the team that creates and expands Pelotonβs e-commerce presence on the web, retail and other sales channels. Youβll build out the services and the infrastructure that delivers delightful experiences to Pelotonβs passionate member community. Your work will positively impact the ability of members to interact and engage with Pelotonβs ecommerce platform in new and meaningful ways.
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
β’ Adhere to the highest engineering quality standards to ensure that systems are traceable, reliable, performant and scalable
β’ Develop new backend features to support the delivery of experiences within Pelotonβs products β Build internal infrastructure and tooling as needed to support product features β Work within an agile development environment with peer engineers, designers, and product
managers on a daily basis to scope, develop and deliver a software experience that realizes the product strategy
β’ Be a part of a positive and inclusive culture that is hyper-focused on cultivating engineer growth and learning
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
β’ 4+ years of software engineering experience
β’ Experience with Java, Kotlin, Python or similar languages
β’ Experience building and scaling out RESTful microservices
β’ Familiarity with accessing, querying and writing to data stores like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, etc.
β’ Experience with Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, gRPC, GraphQL
β’ Experience in Unit Testing/Test Driven Development
β’ Experience in cloud infrastructure like AWS/GCP
β’ Solid understanding of git workflows in GitHub or similar git-based version control systems β Support configuring and developing solutions for CI/CD with experience with tools like Github Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI or similar
β’ Experience developing dashboards and sifting testing insights using tools like Datadog or similar observability tools
β’ Ability to accomplish complex engineering tasks independently and capacity to work in a high growth, fast-paced environment
β’ Experience working on an ecommerce platform is a bonus
