About the Role

The Lead Analytics Engineering role is a team leadership position focused on transforming data capabilities into a value-driving product engine. You will act as a 'multiplier' for your team, ensuring data products are scalable, cost-efficient, and aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

→Move the team to a 'product-thinking' approach with clear model ownership and defined SLAs
→Proactively identify and remove systemic bottlenecks in the development lifecycle
→Own the Looker visualization environment and deliver dashboard solutions
→Design and maintain an efficient workflow environment using dbt
→Partner with another Analytics Engineering Lead to maintain unified standards
→Co-author and enforce high-bar AE standards with Data Engineering
→Monitor resource consumption and mentor the team on cost-efficient SQL
→Implement Business and Technical ownership expectations with robust monitoring
→Lead AE hiring focusing on technical mastery and commercial curiosity
→Develop career growth frameworks and facilitate technical Guilds
→Perform code reviews and tackle complex challenges alongside your team
→Ensure team focuses on building the right things with technical expertise
→Translate business objectives into technical milestones
→Act as a technical consultant to business leaders

Requirements

✓4+ years of hands-on Analytics Engineer experience with 1+ years as a team leader
✓Expert-level SQL proficiency for complex query writing and optimization
✓Hands-on experience with dbt or similar data transformation frameworks
✓Experience with cloud-based data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
✓Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT principles, and dimensional modelling
✓Proficiency with Git for collaborative development
✓Familiarity with reporting/BI tools like Looker

Preferred Qualifications

✓Python expertise for automation, integration, and orchestration
✓Experience with Semantic layers
✓Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow
✓Knowledge of modern software engineering practices applied to data
