About the Role
Pivotal Health is seeking its first dedicated security architect to build and lead the company's security program from the ground up. This critical role will focus on strengthening platform and infrastructure security while embedding a secure-by-design culture across engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- →Define and evolve Pivotal’s security architecture, establishing patterns and guardrails that ensure infrastructure remains secure as the system scales
- →Build security directly into the platform by designing automated controls, policies, and tooling
- →Own infrastructure security and automation using Terraform and other security tooling
- →Lead cloud and network security design, including VPC configuration and firewall policies
- →Secure development workflows and CI/CD systems
- →Drive compliance readiness for frameworks such as SOC 2 and HIPAA
- →Act as a primary technical point of contact during audits and security reviews
- →Improve monitoring and detection systems for security issues
- →Reduce security toil through automation
- →Partner with engineering teams to design secure systems
- →Raise the bar for security engineering at Pivotal
Requirements
- ✓8+ years of experience building and securing cloud infrastructure or platform systems
- ✓Strong experience designing and operating secure cloud-native systems (AWS or GCP)
- ✓Deep hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
- ✓Strong understanding of cloud networking and secure architecture
- ✓Experience securing CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery systems
- ✓Experience implementing secrets management and security controls
- ✓Experience contributing to or leading security and compliance audits
- ✓Strong engineering fundamentals with the ability to communicate security concepts clearly
- ✓Familiarity with security frameworks like OWASP Top 10 and NIST
- ✓Experience with penetration testing or vulnerability remediation
